Rough Terrain Forklift Telehandler (Variable Reach)Trainer Certification
This program was developed to meet the specific requirements for training operators of rough terrain forklifts, particularly telescopic (variable reach) material handlers or, Telehandlers. It is a comprehensive and cost-effective method of ensuring your in-house trainers of rough terrain forklift operators can deliver training that not only meets but exceeds applicable federal and regional regulations and industry standards.

Program Structure:
- Classroom theory training - 70%
- Practical hands-on training - 30%

DAY 1
- Introduction and orientation
- Trainer pre-test
- Program overview and objectives
- Review of applicable regulations and standards
- Classroom and practical instructional techniques
- RT Theory review techniques
- Homework assignment.
DAY 2
- Review of Day 1
- Rough Terrain (RT) Forklift interactive theory training
- Review RT operator theory test
- Pre-use inspection, general operations, parking & shut down (hands-on)
- Review practical training skills
- Practical training exercises (hands on)
- Practical evaluation forms and procedures
- Practical evaluation exercises (hands-on)
- Homework assignment.
DAY 3
- Review of Day 2
- Practical evaluation exercises cont (hands-on)
- Load chart review & quiz
- Master trainer theory test
- Establishing a site & equipment specific operator training program
- Documentation/certification procedures
- Operator re-certification procedures
- Final written examination (instructional techniques)
- Program review and wrap-up
Trainees enrolled in the 3-Day RT Express Program will be sent a Rough Terrain Operator Workbook a minimum of one week prior to the program (where possible) for review and completion. Each trainee must bring their completed workbook with them on Day 1 of the program. Due to the technical nature of this program trainees must have a good reading, writing skills in the English language. Since Load charts are detailed extensively basic math skills are also required.
Each trainee must bring their completed manual with them on Day 1 of the program.
