Please take note some errors were detected and corrected in the Operator Lesson Plans for earthmoving equipment recently. This affects trainers using the lesson plan for:
Each lesson plan above incorrectly listed the minimum number of tasks to be assigned during practical evaluations as four when the correct number is six.
The Skid-steer Loader lesson plan (LPO-011) also incorrectly listed the passing score for the Operator Theory Test as, 7/10 when the correct score is, 14/20.
Finally, per the announcement made previously in this Update, the Front-end Loader (FEL) lesson plan (SUP-007) has been re-titled as, Wheel Loader (WLR) and completely re-written to match the newly released ORM and DTA.
The corrected lesson plans have been uploaded to the Downloadable Materials & Updates section of our website and are available for download at www.ivestraining.com.
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience the errors noted above may have caused.
Stay tuned and watch your inbox carefully for an email from us that will include a launch date as well as any potential system downtime.
You will need to reset your password to login for the first time once the new website is launched.

A Brantford metal-processing company has been fined $220,000 after a worker fell from a scissor lift and died nearly two years ago.
Patriot Forge Co., an open-die forging company located on Henry Street, pleaded guilty to failing to ensure that an overhead crane could not move during repairs, according to a media release.
The Ministry of Labour previously told The Spectator that a pair of workers were hurt when the elevated platform they were operating on tipped over on March 29, 2022.
However, the latest media release from the province revealed new details about the incident.
That day, the two workers were using a scissor lift to troubleshoot a 25-ton overhead crane that had been taken out of service due to problems with the hoist. The workers couldn’t figure out the problem and the crane was put back into service.
Later that day, the hoist broke down again and the two workers used the scissor lift to bring them up to the side of the crane to try and find the problem.
While the workers were up on the lift, the crane chassis started to move toward them, causing the lift to tip over and the workers to fall more than 21 feet to the concrete floor below, according to the release.
One worker was critically injured, while the other died of his injuries, noted the release.
An investigation by the ministry found that the crane had not been “de-energized and locked out” while the workers were troubleshooting on it, nor had it been prevented from moving during maintenance, according to the release.
Patriot Forge pleaded guilty to one charge under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in late March. The company will also have to pay a 25 per cent victim surcharge.
The Brantford company boasts more than 250 employees across two plants and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to its website.
We have an extensive line of die cast scale models available for forklifts, mobile elevating work platforms, loaders and excavators.
Each equipment model is made using heavy die cast with working components, realistic exterior and interior detailing.
Also available, our CASTLE Multifunction Model to help demonstrate capacity, stability and leverage to your operators.
These die cast training aids are a terrific visual for every trainer to use as a training aid in their operator class.
Inventory will vary and specific models may not be available.
Q: How often do forklift trainers need to re-certify?
Is that a Cal/OSHA requirement or an Ives requirement?
A: Thanks for checking in with us.
Trainer recertifications are required every 3 years. That is an IVES requirement and not a regulatory one.
The trainer recertifications are now conducted online so it makes it easier for trainers to attend and not have to worry about travel, expenses, lost time, etc.
You can find the online trainer recertifications schedules on our website or call into the office and talk to our open enrollment coordinator to register.
